Do we need to rent a car on the islands?

Well, that depends on which island you plan on visiting. On Hydra, cars are not allowed. But on larger islands like Kefalonia, renting a car gives you the ability to explore beaches and viewpoints. 

On smaller Cycladic islands, you can get around on local buses or taxis, which are often enough for a short stay. However, in peak season, taxis are limited, and some islands don’t even have taxis.
